AbstraktAbstract

Common radionuclide sources cannot deliver gamma rays with energies more than 3 MeV. A compact portable source of gamma rays was designed and constructed. The source will serve to calibrate and test detectors and spectrometers in a wide energy range from 100 keV up to 10 MeV. The source uses thermal neutron capture resulting in high energy gamma ray photons emission.
