AbstraktAbstract

Portable USB spectrometer (Multichannel analyzer) used mainly for detection of alpha particles was developed. The device has three parts - i] digital (Digital Signal Processor with sampling ADC, RAM/ROM memories, 14 bits/20Msps ADC; 16 bits/160 MIPS DSP; 1 MB RAM), ii) analog module and iii) USB 2.0 controller. Analog module has following features: both bias polarities, both polarities of output signals, different shaping times, selectable energy ranges (amplification), fast and slow triggers, good FWHM (noise measured by Si detector for 0 pF = 4,5 keV, for 100 pF = 9,0 keV), bias for detector up to 500 V. Module was produced by smd technology, It is designed as a flexible multipurpose unit, which can be easily modified to meet specific requests of the experimental conditions (e.g. it works as simple digital osciloscope).
