AbstraktAbstract

Positioning system is designed for radiographic and tomographic measurements using thermal neutron beam and large area pixel detector WidePIX 4x5. Most of the mechanical components of the system are protected by neutron shielding to avoid neutron activation. The system allows detector positioning in vertical direction and sample positioning in all three directions and its rotation. Whole system is controlled by computer via USB 2.0 interface. System covers space of 60 x 50 x 30 cm with precision better than 50 um. Maximal sample weight is 5 kg. The system is especially designed for neutron beam HK1 in Research Centre Řež.
