AbstraktAbstract

The relationship between neutron-induced nuclear reactions and the α cluster structure has rarely been studied to date. In this work, the (n, α) reactions are selected as a subject and the emitting α particles from the 63Cu, 64,66,67Zn(n, α) reactions were measured. Measurement results show that the emission of high-energy α particles from the 64,66,67Zn(n, α) reaction holds an unusually strong non-statistical equilibrium phenomenon, while this phenomenon does not exist in the 63Cu(n, α) reaction. It is found that the α cluster effect in (n, α) reactions is more obvious for the nuclei with Z equals magic number plus 2, which leads to the non-statistical equilibrium emission of α particles. The strength of the α cluster effect in the (n, α) reactions is positively correlated with the incident neutron energy and tentative evidence of a weak negative correlation to the neutron number in the target nucleus is observed. For the first time, the α cluster effect in the (n, α) reactions is experimentally discovered, contributes to the understanding of cluster structure effects in neutron-induced nuclear reactions. In addition, the present measurement data is also helpful for the nuclear data evaluations of the 64,66,67Zn(n, α) reactions.
