AbstraktAbstract
We explore Majorana masses that control 0vββ-decay and the total lepton-number-violating v +-* v oscillations, assuming the mixing of three light neutrinos with normal neutrino mass ordering. Special attention is given to the range of the lightest neutrino mass and the values of the CP-violating phases, where 0v33-decay is strongly suppressed, i.e., preventing the observation of this process in the foreseeable future. The corresponding effective Majorana mass can even be zero. It is demonstrated that this suppression does not apply to the effective Majorana masses that govern the processes of v-* v and v-* v oscillations, provided that the ratio of L/E is appropriately chosen, where L is the distance traveled by the neutrino and E is its energy.
